Who we are
About Marque Publishing
An independent studio that publishes books, builds software, and makes games — each one a project we'd put our name on.
The short version
Marque Publishing started with a simple idea: do work worth putting your name on. The name itself is the mission — a marque is a mark of origin, a maker's stamp. Everything we publish, build, or ship carries that stamp.
We're a small, independent studio. No outside investors, no pressure to chase trends. We publish fiction and nonfiction across genres, we're building software tools, and we're developing games. The common thread isn't category — it's quality.
Every project starts the same way: someone on the team can't stop thinking about it. If it keeps us up at night, there's probably something worth making.
What we care about
Craft over speed
We'd rather ship one thing we're proud of than three things we're not. Every detail matters.
Independence
No outside investors. No trend-chasing. We build what we believe in and answer to the work itself.
Family
This is a family business — literally. We show up for each other, and that shows up in the work.
The team
Meet the people behind the work
Chris Thatcher
President & Publisher
Thirty years advising Fortune 500 security teams taught Chris one thing: the biggest risks aren't technical — they're the decisions people make without understanding them. He built security programs from the ground up, spent more time in boardrooms than server rooms, and translated threats into the language that gets budgets approved.
Somewhere along the way, he realized he had more to say than a whitepaper could hold. So he started writing — and then started a company to publish the kind of work he wanted to put his name on.
Author, speaker, and advisor. He writes about cybersecurity, historical fiction, poker, and whatever else won't leave him alone.
Jayden Thatcher
Head of Game Development & Engineering
Jayden leads the software and game development side of Marque Publishing. He brings the engineering mindset and the gamer's instinct — the rare combination of knowing how to build something right and knowing when it's fun.
Currently building the tools and games that will define Marque's software division. More details coming soon.
